Another important feature to distinguish the two SUVs is the engine performance. The 2022 Ford Escape has generally lighter, more efficient engines, and has a plug-in hybrid option. The Escape comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD), but this can be upgraded to all-wheel drive (AWD).
